Description

DFAT invites tenders for a Secretariat to provide high level policy, business outreach and administrative support to the Australian Members of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) from 1 April 2010 to 30 June 2013.

APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation) is the leading forum for advancing open trade and economic co-operation in the Asia-Pacific Region. ABAC comprises up to three business representatives from each APEC economy who provide an independent business perspective on APEC’s work to APEC Leaders. Information on ABAC is available at www.abaconline.org.

The role of Australia’s ABAC Secretariat is to provide administrative, policy and business outreach support to Australia’s three ABAC members, and to keep them informed of discussions and views presented by other ABAC member economies. The ABAC Secretariat also conveys the views of the Australian ABAC members on position papers and working group/committee proposals, and ABAC reports. Members of Australia’s ABAC Secretariat attend all ABAC meetings.

The successful Tenderer’s Specified Personnel will provide policy advisory services, business consultation, media and business outreach, liaison and administrative coordination in supporting Australia’s ABAC members.
