Description

The Law Reform Commission of Western Australia (Commission) assists in keeping the law up-to-date and relevant to the needs of society by making recommendations for the reform of areas of law referred to it by the Attorney General.

The Commission is supported in its role by the Western Australian Department of Justice.

The Attorney General has instructed the Commission to provide advice and make recommendations for consideration by the Government on possible amendments to enhance and update the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (WA) taking into account Australian and international best practices regarding equality and non-discrimination.

The Commission requires the provision of professional services from a suitable, legally qualified and experienced organisation or consultant, working under the direction of the Commission, to research, draft and edit a Discussion Paper and a Final Report addressing the Terms of Reference for the above Review.
