Description
The routine engineering inspection, undertaken jointly by the Council and DIT in April 2020, identified the following essential actions:
- Original timber piles at the second set of stairs are in poor condition and need replacing/reinforcing;
- Deck timber boards are deteriorating in places and required replacement, as they are becoming tripping and splintering hazard;
- Existing handrails are rusting and developing cracks in welded joints. The handrails need replacing to eliminate the risk of hand injuries.
