Suncoast HDD Maroochy River Crossing

Unitywater will be undertaking the construction of a transfer pumping station and associated rising main to pump sewage flows from the Suncoast STP located in Bli Bli, to the Maroochydore STP for treatment. Once the pumping station and rising main have been commissioned, the Suncoast STP will then be decommissioned.

This Design & Construct tender is to undertake the design, construction and hydraulic pressure testing of an approximately 820m length section of the sewer rising main, using a DN500 PE100 PN20 specification pipe, under the Maroochy River using trenchless or HDD technologies. Unitywater is seeking to engage an experienced and competent Contractor to undertaken the design and construction of this trenchless section of the sewer rising main under the Maroochy River, which will be a strategic asset within Unitywater’s sewer network.

Accordingly, Tenderers shall note that only Contractors with the commensurate experience for this work scope, together with the allocation of experienced personnel and appropriate plant & equipment, will be considered for this Contract. It is expected that only Contractors who have drilling rigs of capacity in excess of 45t pullback force capacity will be able to fulfil the requirements of this Contract.
