Provision of Drilling Rig Services

The Collie Hub project has been established to examine the options for carbon capture and storage in the South West of Western Australia. Preliminary studies have identified the Lesueur formation, north of Kemerton industrial area, as the best potential storage site for CO2 from the South West region. The next stage of the project includes new data collection and analysis involving seismic survey and drilling to obtain deep core samples.
The primary purpose of this procurement is to acquire a range of data to test the capacity and viability of the Lesueur formation for CO2 geosequestration.
The Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA) is a division of the Department of Mines and Petroleum and has contracted Aztech Well Construction Pty Ltd (Aztech) to project manage its stratigraphic drilling projects. Additional drilling services required for the drilling program will be the subject of separate requests for tender to be conducted.
