Description
The Departmetn of Mines and Petroleum is looking to upgrade its current VC infrastructure, taking advantage of new technology to:
a) Provide the business with the opportunity to interact, collaborate and learn across distances;
b) Increase productivity;
c) Save time and money;
d) Connect disparate employees;
e) Help maintain personal connections; and
f) Improve work-life balance.
The key requirements of the new solution are:
i.) A solution which easy to schedule and use with minimal or no IT support required;
ii.) A fast and reliable system, taking advantage of high speed IP LAN/WAN links whilst also allowing existing legacy systems (both internal and external) to be integrated;
iii.) Ability to easily integrate collaboration applications and devices. e.g. the ability to show slide shows, systems demonstrations, etc;
iv.) The ability to easily and cost effectively add new end-points, including desktop and mobile, as business needs expand in the future; and
v.) The implementation will be required to fully integrate with the Department’s existing networking environment and provide a centralised management function to provide configuration, administration logging, and reporting.
