Geoscience Data Specialist

The Geological Survey of Western Australia (GSWA) is a division of the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS). Geoscience Data Transformation Program is a five-year election commitment program to digitally transform the entirety of the billions of dollars’ worth of government and industry geoscience information into “intelligent FAIR data” and unlock its hidden mineral and energy resource potential.

One of the Geoscience Data Transformation Program pledged outcomes is a GSWA consolidated geological properties database, with a smart discovery portal (user interface) that delivers a streamlined modern geoscience data platform, ensuring that GSWA data is:

• Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable (FAIR);
• Accessible by human and non-human (AI);
• Real-time or near to real-time delivery; and
• Self-service access.

In this Request for Tender, GSWA is seeking offers from a suitably qualified and experienced supplier (subject matter expert - SME) with extensive knowledge in semantic web, data ontology, data vocabulary, data catalogues, knowledge graph and linked data. The SME will provide critical support and subject matter advice to the program and guide the successful development of a data platform with the required functionality and capability.
