Description
The Department of Finance’s Commissioner of State Revenue (RevenueWA) is responsible for the administration of the Duties Act 2008 (WA) (Duties Act) under which duty is imposed on transactions involving various types of dutiable property. This includes land, mining tenements, rights and certain business assets.
In many cases duty is payable on the value of the dutiable property that is the subject of the transaction, and RevenueWA’s Commissioner must rely on professional service providers with relevant expertise to determine the value of the dutiable property.
To facilitate assessment of duty under the Duties Act, the Commissioner needs to establish a Panel of appropriately skilled and experienced Valuers and experts. The principal objective of the Panel will be to provide timely and quality valuation advice to assist the Commissioner in the assessment of duty.
