PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The Red Cliffs Main Pump Station RC1 and RC2 pumps are in need of a major overhaul.
The pumps are both a Thompson 42” Class “C” centrifugal split case design.
Pump testing has showed performance is down due to internal recirculation.
The proposed rotating element, casing wear ring refurbishment/replacement and pump casing coating repair will return the pump performance to a new condition.
These pump sets are coupled to 900kW electric motors with VSD’s, including pressure and flow measuring equipment for control of the pumps and pumping station.
PROJECT OBJECTIVE:
The objective of the project is to increase the performance, efficiency and life span while decreasing the maintenance costs of the Red Cliffs Main Pumping Station by overhauling the existing RC1 and RC2 pumps.
PROPOSED WORKS:
The proposed works under this project comprise of overhauling both RC1 and RC2 pump rotating elements and casing wear rings, pump casing internal coating repairs and external painting and replacement of the packed glands with mechanical seals.
