Provision of Drilling Rig, Support Equipment, Construction Materials, and Services

The Department of Mines and Petroleum (DMP) is seeking the provision of a drilling rig(s) and associated services for an onshore drilling program in the South West of Western Australia, starting in Q4 2014.

The works will involve the drilling and collection of data from 3 bores. 2 different types of bores are envisaged:

• 2 fully cored bores to be drilled with a mineral drilling rig capable of drilling PQ sized bores to a depth of 1,400 – 1,500 m
• 1 bore to be drilled with rotary drilling rig capable of drilling a 6-7/8” to 8½” hole to a depth of 1,400 – 1,500 m. This well is expected to be completed with a cemented 5½” casing.

The Contractor is to provide all equipment, materials, personnel and any other items necessary for the provision of the services. The Contractor may have to sub-contract parts of the work to other companies. The scope of the services includes:

• Drilling rig and materials including camp/catering for drilling specified bores
• Bore design and engineering services
• Mud provision and mud engineering services
• Fishing and equipment rentals
• Casing and liner running equipment and services
• Drill bits and nozzles
• Coring services
• Surveying for hole direction
• Cementing services
• Drill Stem Testing (packer testing)
• Mud logging for the rotary drilled bore
• Well site geologist (sedimentologist) and hydrogeologist
• Casing, liners and accessories as per bore design
• Civil works: bore site and access track preparation including location clearing as required.
• Site rehabilitation post completion of drilling and downhole testing
• Environmental baseline establishment pre-drilling and validation post rehabilitation.
• Rig communication and transportation
• Consumables – fuel and water
• Waste management.
